The part 20454342 is a precision retaining nut used to secure the abrasive diamond Orifice and Mixing Chamber assembly in IDE I/II style cutting heads on 60 000 psi waterjet systems. Machined from stainless sTeel with a 3/8″ bore, it threads onto the cutting head body to clamp the nozzle components firmly, ensuring leak-free operation under extreme pressures.

Installation & Maintenance
Disassemble Head: Remove the cutting head from the machine and unscrew the old retaining nut with a 1 ½″ socket.
Inspect Components: Check the orifice assembly and mixing chamber for wear or damage.
Lubricate Threads: Apply a thin film of compatible anti-seize compound to the nut’s threads.
Reinstall Nut: Thread the new 20454342 retaining nut onto the head body, hand-tighten, then torque to 60 ft-lb
Pressure Test: Reinstall the head, bring the system up to low pressure, check for leaks, then ramp to full 60 000 psi and verify stable jet performance.
